Peer Mentors

MacKin Mentor Program

The goal of this year-long program is to introduce the first years (Baby Blues) to a MacKin Welcome Week Representative (BIG Blues) who can help answer any questions, give advice, and to overall be a new friend! Starting the next chapter of your life as a university student is exciting, hectic, scary, and awesome all at the same time – the MacKin mentors are here for you to provide as much support as possible and to make you feel at home in our Blue Family! Additionally, something new this year is the creation of KIN KREW. Groups will be formed that will consist of multiple mentors and multiple first years who all have similar post-undergrad interests. The goal of this aspect of the MacKin Mentor Program is to allow plenty of opportunity for the sharing of opinions and advice. We want to help guide the first years with exploring where their true interests lie and how they may prepare for their respective post-undergrad goals (ie: which courses to take, what extracurricular opportunities to seek, etc.).

Biomech Tutor Program

A new project that will be started this year is a biomech tutor program for any students taking Kin 2A03. Both one-on-one and group tutoring will be available, which will be provided by upper-level MacKin students who have already completed the course and who will be working hand-in-hand with Professor Krista Madsen. Together, these mentors have the shared goal of providing MacKin students with as much confidence as possible towards this course. Stay tuned for more details pertaining to signing up to be a tutor and signing up to be a mentee! To Apply to be a KIN 2A03 Tutor for the 2019 Winter Semester, click here: Tutor Form
